From Zero to Hero – A Simple Plan to Grow your Fanbase

I’ve been telling you about my new band’s journey (deadsoulrevival.com) to launch our first single. Let’s continue on with getting your online presence set up. The goal here is to bring fans into your world! That’s it. Simple, but very powerful. More specifically you want an email list so you can speak to your fans directly on a regular basis.

For us, we are building as we go. In other words, our socials and website will be more developed as time goes on.  The first thing you’ll want to do is go grab up your domain name. Now, lots of people would tell you to go build out a full site at this point. I disagree. I’ve simply put our logo, a few pics and most importantly a sign up form for our email list.  I’ll talk about this more in a minute.

The next thing I did was to create social accounts on the major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter. We will only be concentrating on FB and Insta for now. The reason is you want to pick out the platforms where you personally spend the most time and are the most familiar with. Those are going to be your primary online marketing channels for the moment.

Sign up for business pages on these platforms. At least on Facebook, it is against their terms of service to run a business off of a personal profile.  Go into each account and fill out everything you can. In other words the bio, contact info, website, etc. You want people to be able to find you easily.

All of these platforms should be directing people toward your website and more importantly that email list sign up form.  This is a big reason to have your site at least initially have just that sign up form on it. We want to focus people’s attention on one idea at a time. The first idea is to become part of our tribe.

Soon I’m going to be sharing with you a template that will help you to build your email list. The stronger your list is, the more music and merch you will sell. I’m getting a little ahead of myself though.  For now, concentrate on getting those socials ready to rock and get yourself a domain name if you don’t have one already.

If you want to dive further into marketing your band I highly suggest grabbing a FREE copy of “Traffic Secrets”. I’m touching upon a few of the ideas from that book above. Highly recommended!
