Your Fan Funnel

If you’ve been following my “first single release” journey for my new band deadsoulrevival.com you know that my number one goal at this point is to get heard by as many fans as possible.

A big part of that strategy is getting people to sign up for our email list. There’s several reasons for this, but let’s talk about one that may not be that obvious: saving money. Emailing a list is virtually free compared to other methods of connecting with fans.

Imagine back in the pre-internet days, you either had a snail mail list (postage cost) or you had no list at all and just relied on advertising (more $) to get the word out about a release. Then you went out on tour and tried to pull in fans that way. As you probably know touring is not cheap.

There was an even bigger problem with this though. Even somebody who loved your band had to really be on the lookout for your next release. Without the right promotion it would just “slip through the cracks.” This helped create many “one hit wonders.”

Now there is a distinct difference. We have the power to OWN our list. Back then often you were just renting access to a list. For example, you or your label paid a magazine for an ad that ran once. Even now, with Facebook you don’t own those names. i.e. “likes.”

You probably recall me mentioning our email list signup form. When a fan signs up they get 2 of our songs for free. In fact, if you notice, I’m having people sign up before we have our songs ready. That’s so we have fans to release the songs to!

These same fans will also be given the opportunity to vote which track should be our single. That gives us a better idea of what our fans and potential fans want to hear. Think about how valuable that info will be.

Well as I promised several weeks back, I’m sharing that fan signup form with you. All you have to do is personalize a few things: Insert your logo, add some pics, and change the text to fit your band.

Make sure to share the best songs you have! This is what turns listeners into lifelong fans. Never hold back your best stuff. That’s a big mistake lots of bands make.

Every once in a while you will hear me mention one of my “secret weapons.” These are techniques or gear I’ve discovered over the years that help me achieve killer results fast. Well this is exactly that. I’ve been using this method for years and it works great.

This form or “funnel” I’m sharing with you was built with Click Funnels. You’ll need to sign up for a free 14 day trial to use the funnel.  I love it because it so easy to use. You don’t need to be a programmer to use this. It’s drag and drop simple and is made for this exact purpose.

When you’re ready Click Funnels is also awesome for selling music and merch as well.

Coming up I’ll discuss getting the right people to that funnel. These visitors are often referred to as “traffic.”

Need More Fans or Clients? There’s still time to pick up your FREE copy of “Traffic Secrets”! This is an AWESOME book that I highly recommend. It has made a dramatic difference to my business. In case you don’t know, by ‘traffic’ I mean fans and customers coming to your band’s site, Facebook page, etc. Without it your message is heard by no one… and that’s not only frustrating but wasting your time. I’m sure you’ve worked too hard on your band or business to not be noticed. Don’t let your music go unheard.
